The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

officially west coast.

Well well well, twas the day before Christmas (Eve) and what do you know?

I GOT A JOB! Woo Hoo!!! I accepted an offer with a company yesterday and I'm so excited!

It's a company called Coffee Table and they're an online catalog aggregator app for the iPad.  What's different about Coffee Table is that it allows you to browse an assortment of catalogs at once, but purchase from multiple catalogs using 1 checkout.  So if you decide to buy a table from crate & barrel but chairs from west elm- instead of having to go to each company's website to buy the products separately, you can buy them both at once through coffee table!  Perfect for any occasion in which you're giving gifts or wanting to buy from more than 1 catalog.

Anyway, if any of you have an iPad it's a free download in the itunes store, if you have time to download it I'd love to hear your feedback!  Additionally, if you know of any catalogs or contacts at any catalogs that you'd like to see on there- let me know. My job is to acquire as many catalogs as possible for the site!

Well, that is what I've spent the better part of the last 2 weeks doing- interviewing and anxiously waiting.   S and I are off tonight, headed for Nashville, TN! We'll be taking  a redeye in to Atlanta and then driving with K to meet up with the rest of the fam in Nashville.  I'm excited to see everyone and celebrate the holidays.

Hope you all have safe travels and the happiest of holidays and I hope that some of you come out to visit in the new year!

I will leave you now with a picture from my jog this morning.. xo

Weekend Edition

hello, hello! I hope you've all had wonderful weeks. I can't believe the holidays are finally upon us.  S and I will be heading east in exactly one week from today! I'm very excited to see my family and to explore Nashville for the first time.

S's brother is in town for the evening so we will be entertaining, which is a very nice change from falling asleep on the couch at 9:30pm (which may still happen, who am I kidding?!).

We have our one and only holiday party tomorrow night (we made friends JUST in time) followed by a Holiday Cookie Exchange on Sunday.  We're supposed to bring 2-3 dozen cookies so I told S that we could each pick a recipe. Mine, of course, involves 2 types of chocolate, marshmallows and pretzels. His involve something vanilla-y and lemon something or other.  I think it's pretty obvious who's going to win this bake-off (are you impressed that I found a way to turn a holiday cookie exchange into a competition?! I am)

If our recipes turn out well, I will take pics and post them here so you all can get fat along side me!  Misery loves company.  Maybe you can also vote who made the better looking (and most likely tasting) cookie. We'll see how I'm feeling.

I'm forcing myself to go for a run now despite my couch and TV screaming my name at a level that's quite hard to ignore. Have a wonderful weekend & happy holidays!

(haha!)

remembering 2011

I just stumbled upon the Google Zeitgeist, it's a compilation video from the moments that defined 2011, it's pretty quick but very well done and a really excellent reminder of all that transpired this past year.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did..

endorsement time, BABY!

This week I fortunate enough to get to meet the lovely people behind the Method family of products.

I knew about Method, used their soaps, had no complaints. After doing a little bit of research though, I realized that this is one awesome company, backed by about 100 employees who truly love what they do. The company was founded by 2 childhood friends who decided that there had to be a better way to create good for you products that worked and that smelled amazzzzzzing. And I think it's safe to say, those dudes succeeded.

The Method HQ's are located in San Francisco's Financial District and the reception area is an all white, window lined space filled with some of the nicest people I've encountered in SF. Their offices are totally open so everyone's one big family, no offices, no walls, no hierarchy. There's a "bike garage" along with a 3 foot tall trophy that inhabits the desk of the "Employee of the Month" and a tiki bar for Happy Hours.

Now that you know a little bit about the amazing people who created Method, you will understand why this week's endorsement goes to the Method Dish Soap! I just got the dish soap yesterday and I've already cleaned every quasi-dirty dish in my kitchen..BY HAND! The soap smells THAT good and it kept my dish brush completely soapy- actually, at the end of washing all of my dirty-ish plates, knives and french press, I had to rinse out the leftover soap! That never happens to me. Normally one squirt of soap = one plate "cleaned"...not with Method.

Their products are environmentally friendly, 100% GREEN (even coming from a LEED certified office) and they truly are the nicest people, committed to giving their customers the best product for their kitchen and their health. Next time you're in the soap aisle and are torn by which brand to buy- go METHOD. Your nose, health and dishes will thank you.
