Well well, here we are again, at the end of another week. Tomorrow marks my 7 week anniversary as a San Franciscan. And I think it's safe to say that it's going to be about as anti-climatic as the 7th anniversary of anything tends to be.
This weekend S and I are running in a 5k trail run up in Marin. I'm interested to see how we both do, but I must say, I am especially interested to see how S does considering that kid likes to run about as much as he likes me plucking his eyebrows (ha ha! totally true, he begs me to do it.. that part may not be true. but trust me when I say, he thanks me later).
Anyway, the reason I am even writing this post is to ask for some reading suggestions. I'm trying to start reading more non-fiction these days. I've decided to alternate my reading selections as follows: "fiction" "non fiction" "fiction" "non fiction". For everyone who graduated the 8th grade, you should be able to pick up on that pattern quite quickly.
With that said, I would LOVE your suggestions for non fiction books. Please keep the following things in mind when leaving your suggestion (via comment would be ideal):
*If you give me a book with a lot of numbers, I will not make it past the first chapter.
I find it very difficult to focus on the overall meaning of a book when I'm having to remember the figures that accompany the facts (ie: Freakonomics. Started 3x. Finished 0)
*I love history, so books pertaining to the history of this great world of ours, would be highly encouraged
*I'm currently reading a book about FDR and my next (and only) non fiction in the queue is "Mating Minds: How Sexual Choice Shaped the Evolution of Human Nature" (re-read) if that helps give you a direction..
And finally, a few shots from a quick hike last week that at this point, probably won't ever get it's proper time in the spotlight on this uber popular, world famous blog.

Oh dear cousin of mine, you know if you need a good book choice, you can call my mom. She has read every book ever published. The east coast misses you so much.
