Well, it has officially been 2 weeks (and 2 days) in San Fran! Last week was a little tough, was missing NY and all of my friends. Thankfully, 75 degrees and sun were enough to jolt me back to being a California lover. This weekend was spent entirely outdoors. Saturday morning S and I woke up bright and early and headed down to Pacifica beach so he could surf with a friend and I went for a run along a beach trail. We then headed downtown to do some shopping at Union Square before heading out for a Halloween party. Sunday we took an incredible hike that led us from Mill Valley to an old German chalet hidden in a redwood forest. We hiked about 40 minutes each way, over all sorts of terrain and micro-climates before settling in at this old, German beer garden and sharing a couple of pitchers with a lovely couple we met there. They did it right, brought a table cloth complete with a picnic and wine, and then shared with us. Perfect!

This week is packed for us. Tonight I'm playing in my first soccer game in a year and a half! Tomorrow night we're meeting up with a boy who is also from NC who's brother I was friends with in NY. Wednesday S's fried Sarah is staying with us before heading off to Thailand/Peace Corps on Thursday and then Friday will be one year that S and I have been together! No big plans, but I have been promised flowers, and now that I'm posting it on here, he has to do it.
Will keep you all updated on next weekends activities too.
