Hellooo Everyone!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
Mine was very low key and thanks to some much needed "eh" weather, we finally finished unpacking!
Friday we had big plans to go out to dinner to a local restaurant called Beretta (http://berettasf.com/) which looks absolutely amazing and S has been wanting to try since he got out here in May. Instead, we figured that venturing out of doors in the dark of night was entirely overrated and ended up ordering in what turned out to be outrageously subpar Chinese food. Excellent start to the weekend. BUT, as promised and made public via this very blog, S brought me the most beautiful flowers, which kept us and our subpar chinese food excellent company Friday evening.
Saturday ended up being the day of "eh" weather so we spent a lot of time in doors. We decided to invite some friends over to watch the super anti-climactic LSU/ Alabama game and I took my first gig as hostess very seriously. S and I spent the morning going from grocery store to grocery store to Costco (naturally) as my menu consisted of baked "fried" pickles and s'mores cookies (recipes via Pinterest and can be found here and here). Now let me just tell you, before I woo you with images, these recipes were both mind-blowingly delicious, but those cookies..out of this world. So good, in fact, that I had to seal them up and hide them from myself so S could take them to work and get them out of this apartment. The last thing I need is a bff in the form of a cookie.
So, after our bake fest and football fest, S and I proceeded to go to bed at the completely acceptable hour of 9:30pm. Yes everyone, we are really as exciting as we sound. Delivery chinese and 9:30pm bed times. Don't hate.
Sunday was slightly less embarrassing. We got up early (read: S woke me up at 9am and told me to get out of bed b/c he wasn't tired and the sun was up, what a guy) and went down to Crissy Field and went for a nice run. We're training for the North Face 5K on December 4th and S is in pretttty bad shape thanks to his 12 hour work days and inability to spend his free time doing anything other than worshipping me like the goddess I am (that is all told with 100% accuracy and truth). Anyway, we're trying to start slowly and build up so that S doesn't die on race day. He is progressing nicely. After our nice little jog along the beach to the Golden Gate bridge we went over to Ocean Beach to watch Kelly Slater (he is a surfer ladies, best known for briefly dating Cameron Diaz) win the 11th something, it was a big deal apparently because there was a mob scene surrounding him at all times. S did manage to snap a few shots of him and I will post them exclusively so you all can see the type of guy C. Diaz is into.
Sunday night we were relatively un-lame, which was a nice change, as we went with some friends to Presidio Bowl where for $20 you can bowl non-stop and eat as much pizza as your digestive system allows (for me it was 3 delicious pieces, proudly)! We had a blast and stayed out until almost 10pm (ON A SCHOOL NIGHT!).
Wow, that was a very non-consice way to sum up a pretty low key/unexciting/omg are we really that lame?! weekend. If anyone has any questions about those 2 recipes, let me know as we had to alter ours slightly. Hope you all have a great week and that I have something remotely exciting to update you on soon.
xo
